Honorable Abdulrazaq Dahiru Kaita

At a press briefing organized by the Youth Movement in Katsina State, the Chairman, Hon. Abdulrazaq Dahiru Kaita, announced the movement's decision to exit all political parties to ensure the success of the youth-driven movement in the 2027 elections. The event took place on Tuesday morning, September 24, 2024, at the Katsina NUJ Secretariat.

Hon. Kaita explained that the primary purpose of forming the Youth Movement was to fight for the rights and leadership opportunities of young people, who have long been marginalized and used as political tools by established parties, only to be discarded once their objectives were achieved. He emphasized that the youth of Nigeria have long endured these challenges in the political landscape.

“The creation of this movement was driven by our determination to establish our own political platform to contest in the 2027 elections without relying on the outdated systems of the existing parties that exploit us,” stated Hon. Kaita.

He further elaborated on the progress made by the movement in Katsina, revealing that they have already established 30 offices across the state, 15 of which are fully operational. Additionally, the movement has appointed 20 Zonal Coordinators for each senatorial district, with 9 of them already actively engaged in political mobilization.

Hon. Kaita highlighted that the movement is not limited to the youth alone but also includes experienced politicians, women, and individuals with special needs, which has bolstered its acceptance and influence across various sectors. “We are also carefully strategizing on how to collaborate with like-minded organizations within and outside Katsina State to dismantle the restrictive leadership structures that have held us back,” he added.

In his address to the youth of Katsina, Hon. Kaita urged them to unite, set aside personal interests, and remain steadfast in their belief that ultimate success comes from God. He stressed the need for the youth to rise and claim their rightful place in leadership through dedication and prayer.

“We call on our youth to come together, stop the division, and work towards establishing strong leadership that will bring real change,” he urged.

In conclusion, Hon. Kaita called on key stakeholders in Katsina, including politicians, intellectuals, business leaders, and others, to join forces with the youth to achieve success in this movement. He noted that the time is ripe for the youth to write a new chapter in Nigeria's political history.

“We urge all Katsina stakeholders, especially those with influence, to rise and ensure the youth movement becomes a reality and a success,” he concluded.
